Festivus For The Rest Of Us

I was totally inspired by Tibi's festival inspiration shot; this is the time of year that music venues everywhere come alive, and what is clear from the huge popularity of shows like Bonaroo or Coachella is that they are becoming excellent grounds for fashion watching. The fact that paparazzi shots surface from all of the big fests is a clue that you're attracting a more fashionable fest-ing crew. It's not just for patchouli-wearing hippies anymore (no offense to them of course). So I pulled a little compilation of some of my favorite festival style inspirations. It goes without saying that virtually all of these would be worn with an excellent strappy flat sandal. I respect those who can survive in wedges, but I become a liability in those after a few $20 beers.

The original inspiration, Tibi's gauzy Clara maxi dress. It comes in a green color way as well.

Rebecca Taylor Henley dress, similarly earthy and muted yet cheerful. Comfy and breathable for sun and crowds.

I am obsessssed with this look. The Free People shorts pull both the floral and scalloped trends, are a great buy, and match perfectly with this quasi-sheer Tucker blouse in just the right cherry hue.

I love this floral print Rebecca Taylor scarf. Her style is perfect for music fest-ing; she has an inclination towards softer and more bohemian shapes. Her floral prints for this season have been perfectly on trend; the scarf is a great way to add color to the classic jean shorts/white t-shirt look.

Go comfy nautical with this Rachel Pally Kia dress from Gena Chandler. Knits like this are so easy, you just have to make sure it's properly hemmed as you do NOT want to drag around anything you find on the ground at a music festival. Ew.

Last but not least, done these NSF Overalls before, but I believe strongly in their festivusness. I think these are a funky casual option for scooting around town too.

OOOH! Don't forget your fedora and Ray-Bans
